Team to Debut Strong Five-Car Lineup with De Tullio, Durst, Becklin, Sherlock and Cox

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Turn 3 Motorsport is set to kick off the 2025 USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire season with a strong five-car lineup on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida this weekend. The highly anticipated event will feature Rounds 1 and 2 of the championship as the team looks to continue its dominance at the 1.8-mile, 14-turn street circuit.

The St. Petersburg Grand Prix has been a stronghold for Turn 3 Motorsport in recent years, with the team securing the pole position and victory in each of the past three consecutive seasons. Last year, 2024 Champion Lochie Hughes set the tone by claiming the first Continental Tire Pole Award of the year by over three-tenths of a second before leading every lap to victory in Race 1, extending Turn 3 Motorsport’s streak of success on the street circuit. Now, the team looks to continue its winning tradition by securing a fourth straight pole and victory in 2025.

Turn 3 Motorsport enters the opening round following a strong performance at last weekend’s official Spring Training at NOLA Motorsports Park. Despite Day 2 being canceled, Alessandro De Tullio topped the timesheets in both sessions on Saturday, showcasing impressive speed. The team’s other four drivers—Tyke Durst, Cooper Becklin, Titus Sherlock, and Elliot Cox—also demonstrated excellent pace throughout the limited track time, reinforcing Turn 3 Motorsport’s competitive form heading into St. Petersburg.

For this year’s opening round, Turn 3 Motorsport fields a formidable five-car roster featuring Cooper Becklin in the #2 Helmet House car, Titus Sherlock in the #3 Mosaic Animal Health Center / Rayne Nutrition / Ronald McDonald House Charities / Sun Bake car, Elliot Cox in the #22 Wings & Wheels Foundation / Driving for Dyslexia / Alderson Commercial Group / Zickler Associates / Chick-fil-A car, Tyke Durst in the #33 Freight Handlers Inc. / Relay Payments / Drive Toward a Cure car, and Alessandro De Tullio in the #44 Astropay car.

#2 Cooper Becklin // Helmet House
"I’m super excited to race here this weekend," said Becklin. "With this being my first time at the St. Petersburg event, there’s a lot to learn, but I’m ready for the challenge. The team has done an incredible job preparing, and I’m confident we can have a strong performance. I can’t wait to get the season started!"

#3 Titus Sherlock // Mosaic Animal Health Center / Ronald McDonald House / Rayne Nutrition
"St. Petersburg is going to be a unique challenge for me," said Sherlock. "I’ve never driven a street circuit before, and the limited practice will only add to the challenge. I’m really looking forward to experiencing this awesome track and learning everything I can from it. I hope to make it a strong start to the season."

#22 Elliot Cox // Wings & Wheels Foundation / Driving for Dyslexia / Alderson Commercial Group / Zickler Associates / Chick-fil-A
“Coming off a strong first outing for the team in New Orleans for pre-season testing, I am excited to get going for the first race of the season in St. Petersburg this weekend," said Cox. "The team has been working incredibly hard, and I feel we are in a great position to perform well. St. Pete is always a challenging track, but I’m looking forward to the opportunity to build momentum early in the season. Hopefully, we can bring home some strong points and start the season off in a good way."

#33 Tyke Durst // Freight Handlers Inc. / Relay Payments / Drive Toward a Cure
“St. Petersburg always brings an excitement in the air,” said Durst. “I am certainly feeling this excitement as we face our first challenge of the year in the Florida sun. My goal this weekend is to hit the ground running with what we learned in testing and keep learning all I can about street course racing."

#44 Alessandro De Tullio // Astropay
“I’m pumped to get the season started this weekend in St. Petersburg,” said De Tullio. “We had a strong test at NOLA last weekend, so I’m excited to see what we can do in the first event. It will be a very special race for me considering it’s a semi-home race for me, and I will have lots of family and friends coming to watch. I’m ready to give it everything this weekend!”

Team Owner, Peter Dempsey
“St. Petersburg is one of my personal favorite events both when I raced and now as a team owner,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. “We are all ready for the weekend and excited to get the season started. It is always a tricky event to manage being a street course, but we will do our best to help the drivers that have and haven’t raced here before. We are pushing hard to start strongly and want all the drivers to have a successful weekend and build our season from there.”

Among the five drivers, only Elliot Cox and Tyke Durst have previous race experience at St. Petersburg, making this a debut event on the circuit for Becklin, Sherlock and De Tullio. The team is confident in its ability to quickly get up to speed and challenge for top results.

The event weekend will officially begin tomorrow, Friday, February 28, with a practice session followed by qualifying later in the day. Race 1 is set for Saturday, March 1, and Race 2 will take place on Sunday, March 2. Fans can follow all the action through live video coverage on the USF Pro Championships app and YouTube channels throughout the weekend.
