St. Petersburg, Fla. – Danial Frost left nothing on the table as he finished the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship presented by Cooper Tires with a pair of podiums at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Presented by Cooper Tires and Allied Building Products this weekend and secured third overall in the championship.

Frost came into the finale hot, qualifying second on the 1.8-mile, 14-turn street circuit for Race 1 and setting the tone for the weekend. In Race 1, the 19-year-old Singaporean driver gave it all he could to chase down pole sitter Sting Ray Robb—almost taking the fastest lap time and closing the gap to the leader with each lap—but couldn’t quite catch the 2020 champion for the win, instead settling for second.

For Race 2, Frost qualified his #68 DENJET car third, just narrowly missing another second place starting position by .06 seconds. A yellow flag at the start of the final race got the field off to a rocky start, but Frost fought for one last podium to conclude the season, achieving that with a third place finish and enough points to claim second runner up in the championship.

“This weekend was a very strong ending to the season,” said Frost. “I’m very proud of the team and myself to get the results that we needed. Being able to get the double podium this weekend led us to finishing third in the championship overall. To still finish in the top three with all the challenges we’ve had throughout the year, I couldn’t be more proud of the team’s effort! Rasmus Lindh, who substituted driving the #3 ACR/T3M car for Antoine Comeau this weekend, took a little more time to get reacclimated to the car as he hasn’t been behind the wheel of an Indy Pro 2000 car since being crowned Vice Champion at the end of last year. The 19-year-old Swedish driver started Race 1 in P8 and raced his way up to a sixth place finish. For Race 2, Lindh went from a fifth place starting position to take the checkers in fourth, producing a solid result for the team in the final event of 2020.

“It was good weekend,” said Lindh. “It wasn’t quite the results we wanted, but we were really close to a podium finish. It’s been about a year since I last drove an Indy Pro 2000 car, so it did take a bit of time to get back into it. It felt really good though, and the car was really fast, so I was happy. It was good to get a P4 finish in the end. I really want to thank Turn 3 Motorsport for this weekend.”

Although he was unable to participate in the finale, Turn 3 Motorsport driver Antoine Comeau finished ninth overall in the driver’s championship. He was also awarded the Tilton Hard Charger Award at the end of season celebration, a prize that goes to the driver who gained the most positions on track during the year, a testament to his advancement as a driver. In addition, Turn 3 Motorsport accomplished fourth in the team championship in its first full season campaign with the Indy Pro 2000 Championship.

“It’s been a successful first year in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship for our team,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. “I’m very proud of all the staff and what we achieved together. We showed up as an unknown, and we finished the year proving we are one of the best teams in the paddock. I really want to thank Antoine, Danial, and Rasmus for what they all brought to the program. Now we shift our focus to 2021, and we will aim to be stronger and go for that championship!”
