In one of the most intense and wild weekends of the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, Juncos Racing claimed their first team championship while Spencer Pigot brought home the driver’s championship in a thrilling season finale.

After riding an emotional roller-coaster of epic proportions during last weekend’s final two rounds of the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires at Sonoma Raceway, Spencer Pigot emerged as a deserving series champion on Saturday.

Fresh off winning the 2013 USF2000 Championship with Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing, Scott was eager to continue to work with the Capes and they decided to move up together to the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, both team and driver rookies. The decision proved to be inspired, resulting in the Rookie of the Year and Second Place in both the Driver and Team Championships.

Completing her first year in the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, Julia Ballario scored two more yop-10 finishes in Rounds 13 and 14 of the Grand Prix of Sonoma at Sonoma Raceway. Ballario’s team Juncos Racing captured the team and driver’s championships in an exciting final weekend of the 2014 season.
