Monterey, Calif. – Turn 3 Motorsport wrapped up the season with the Indy Pro 2000 Championship presenter by Cooper Tires at this weekend’s closing event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

The rookie team’s highlights of the weekend were their ninth place qualifying result and finish in Race 2, a tie for their highest finish this season with the other being at World Wide Technology Raceway’s 1.25-mile oval near St. Louis.

This event was driver Antoine Comeau’s first time competing with the Indy Pro 2000 series on the 11-turn, 2.238-mile road course in California’s central coast. The Canadian took the first day of the weekend to become acclimated with the track, qualifying 14th for Race 1 and finishing the race in the same position. On Saturday, Comeau improved his efforts to qualify ninth for the final race on Sunday.

In Race 2, Comeau avoided a first lap incident and climbed up to seventh position where he spent the majority of the race. After holding off the competitors on his tail for as long as he could, Comeau brought the #3 ACR/T3M car home in ninth, a tie for his highest finish to date in his premier half-season with the Indy Pro 2000 Championship.

“It was great to be racing at WeatherTech Raceway this weekend, but to be at the IndyCar finale was very exciting,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. “You could feel it was special to have IndyCar back at Laguna Seca again.”

“It was a tough weekend for Antoine having to adapt to the course with so little track time before qualifying,” continued Dempsey. “He did a great job, improved all weekend, and had a great second race starting and finishing ninth. We will keep pushing in the off season to improve and be ready for 2020. I want say a huge thanks to the Indy Pro 2000 series and also to my crew, Emanuel Talquenca and Pablo Egel, for all their hard work.”

While the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Championship is now over, Comeau and the T3M team will continue on to Sonoma Raceway this weekend for Round 5 of the Blue Marble Cocktails Radical Cup North America series where they are the current points leaders in the driver and team championships.

The team will also rejoin the Indy Pro 2000 Championship in late October for the Chris Griffis Memorial Test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course as they focus on expanding to a two-car team and running a full season campaign in the Road to Indy series in 2020.
