With the lone oval race of the season now in the rear-view mirror, drivers on the top two rungs of the USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire open-wheel driver development ladder will return to more familiar surroundings this week as both USF Pro 2000 and USF2000 take on the magnificent treasure that is Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis.

Braden Eves and Tanner DeFabis shared the honors today at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park after the traditional Carb Night Classic had been postponed from last night due to inclement weather. The USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire’s one and only visit this season to an oval track duly lived up to expectations.

While all eyes have been on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and preparations for the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500, the attention of drivers in USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire will switch this week to nearby Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The .686-mile oval will host the traditional Carb Night Classic on Friday, May 24.

VRD Racing’s Nikita Johnson and Pabst Racing’s Simon Sikes both stood on the top step of the podium in the final two rounds of the VP Racing Grand Prix of Indianapolis tripleheader.

Nikita Johnson and VRD Racing are on a roll. The 15-year-old rising star from Gulfport, Fla., today scored his fourth victory in a row when he once again showed a clean rear wing to his USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire rivals and comfortably won the first of three races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix road course which will comprise the VP Racing Grand Prix of Indianapolis.
