Less than two weeks after thrilling road course encounters as part of the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis, all three steps on the Mazda Road to Indy – the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires – will return to the Indianapolis area this week for some oval track competition.

Not content with scoring his maiden Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires victory yesterday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, Canadian Scott Hargrove repeated the feat in today’s second leg of the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

Canadian Scott Hargrove finally broke through into Victory Lane this afternoon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway following an action-packed race and an impressive performance for Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing in the first of two races that will constitute the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

The reconfigured Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course drew rave reviews last week when the Verizon IndyCar Series teams tested for the first time on the challenging new 2.439-mile, 14-turn layout in preparation for the upcoming inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis. The next generation of IndyCar Series stars will have their own opportunity to join in the fun this week as competitors on all three levels of the Mazda Road to Indy - the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires - will be on hand for two races of their own on May 9/10.

Rising American star Spencer Pigot remains perfect in this year's Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, sweeping both of this weekend's races at Barber Motorsports Park and extending his unbeaten win streak to four. But once again he had to work hard as 2013 USF2000 Champion Scott Hargrove took the pole and pressured him through most of this morning's 20-lap race.
