Australian Jake Parsons is keen to add to his podium collection as the Pro Mazda Championship heads to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for rounds 12 and 13 this weekend.
Coming off his second podium of the season at Toronto, series rookie Parsons is looking forward to taking that momentum on to the 13 turn road course based in Lexington, Ohio.
The 21-year old Juncos Racing driver enjoyed the fast, undulating curves of the 2.258 mile (3.63km) circuit during the official series test back in June.
“The test went really well and I felt very comfortable. It was fun to drive, a real driver’s track. It’s quite technical, with a lot of high speed corners, so I think it will be a good place to improve my skills as driver.”
With both Pro Mazda races taking place on Saturday, Parsons is positive that his intensive training and preparation, both physically and mentally, will help him challenge hard for more steps on the podium.
“I’m really looking forward to what will be the penultimate race weekend for Pro Mazda. It should be a great event; we’re all focused on carrying the positives from Toronto forward and building on them” said the 2014 AsiaCup champion.
Rounds 12 and 13 of the Pro Mazda Championship take place at Mid-Ohio on 28-30 July.
