BROWNSBURG, Ind. – Putting the eventful month of May behind them, it is time for Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) and its six drivers to take on Road America. Located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, the 4.014-mile, 14-turn road course is the longest track on the calendar and readies for drivers of the USF Pro Championships Presented by Cooper Tires this weekend.
The USF Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires drivers will take on rounds eight and nine with events happening from Thursday through Sunday. Meanwhile, the USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires drivers will be taking on rounds nine and 10 with events from Thursday through to Saturday with two wheel-to-wheel races on Saturday providing for a jam-packed day.
Coming off a podium result at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for Evagoras Papasavvas, along with championship point leader Lochie Hughes, who continues his strong season, JHDD is ready to attack Road America. Joined by Al Morey, who is fresh off his best qualifying result of the season, JHDD drivers are ready for the challenges that Road America presents. Along with the three regulars, Dane Scott will be making his USF2000 debut at Road America as he makes the move to the USF Pro Championships from another open-wheel series.
The USF Pro 2000 drivers for JHDD are looking to continue their momentum after earning podium results at the Indy Grand Prix in early May. Ricardo Escotto joins Reece Ushijima, who sits sixth in the championship standings, as the two combatants in Pro 2000. While both drivers are rookies in the series, they are taking huge advantage of the JHDD coaching program.
“We are happy to be heading back to Road America. The track always provides great and entertaining racing opportunities,” said Jay Howard regarding returning to Road America. “We are in the heart of championship battles and there is no chance to let up.”
