Nico Jamin breaks the winning streak in Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires at Mid-Ohio in the latest Pro Mazda Championship event and the French rookie claims his first wins.
With the continuing improvement in the form of Jamin and his team Jamin took pole position on Friday with a new lap record of 1:18.1385, beating the record set in 2006 and from the outset of the race he dominated proceedings at the front of the field from start to finish.
For race two Jamin had to work a little harder battling the changing track conditions as a brief rain showered hampered his progress before he fought his way to the front and holding on to the win, reminiscent of his three victories in USF2000 the previous year.
"I have no words to describe our performance this weekend! It was absolutely incredible, I felt so good out there with my car and I love this track. We put all the pieces together and swept both wins. It means a lot to me to get my first win in Pro Mazda, after all the struggles we had this season, the hard work finally paid off! I'm so happy for the team, we all deserved it a lot. We have an amazing momentum heading into the season finally in Laguna, with 5 podiums in a row, including 2 wins! "
