Oconomowoc, Wisconsin - Pabst Racing has announced the signing of 18-year-old New Zealand driver Jacob Douglas for the 2025 USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire. Douglas returns to Pabst Racing after a gap year in which he competed in two rounds of the GB3 Championship while preparing for 2025.
In 2023, Douglas drove for Pabst Racing in USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire. During the final event of the season, he won twice at Portland International Raceway. Over the course of the year, he also had five podiums and six top fives.
Douglas’ sponsors DouglasFay Group, Fleet Cost & Care, New Zealand Elite Motorsport Academy, Adeption and Harcourts Grenadier will be on board for the season as he pilots the no. 19 Tatuus IP-22 for Pabst Racing. He is the first driver to be announced for the team as the 2025 season quickly approaches.
“It feels great to be back at Pabst,” said Douglas. “I am super grateful for the opportunity from Augie and everyone that has helped me get back here!
“Our goal for the 2025 season is to go out there and win races and bring home the best results possible.”
This will be Douglas’ first season competing in USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire. Team owner Augie Pabst is looking forward to having Douglas back with the team for 2025.
“We came up short on getting Jacob in our USF Pro 2000 car for 2024,” said Pabst. “But we reset our sights on 2025 and now it’s come to fruition. I’m confident he’ll be fighting for wins all season.“
Right after the new year, the team will continue its off-season testing program prior to an official series ‘Spring Training’ at NOLA Motorsports Park and the first race of the season in St. Petersburg.
The team will be making more driver announcements in the near future.
