Miller and Vaccaro are ready to turn left
It’s the second home race of the season for Westfield, Indiana’s Miller Vinatieri Motorsports (MVM). Having already competed at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indy Grand Prix weekend, MVM drivers Jack William Miller and Kent Vaccaro will now battle the short Lucas Oil Raceway for the first oval event of the season.
“Jack had a podium at Lucas Oil Raceway last season, so we feel we have a great starting point in regard to car setup,” explained Jack Miller, who co-owns the team with NFL Superbowl Champion Adam Vinatieri. “Kent had a great test on an oval a few weeks ago so we should have some good confidence heading into the event.”
While this will be the lone oval on the schedule for Vaccaro and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, it will be the first of two for Miller and the field of Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires drivers as they will also see action at the World Wide Technology Raceway in St. Louis.
Miller, a podium winner at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2020, is anxious and excited to see if he can continue that success in Indy Pro 2000.
“I love oval racing and how you have to be on the edge to be fast,” expressed Miller. “At LOR, you have to be comfortable driving the top line, but also have the ability to dive in low to pass. We worked on this a lot last year and that was the major contributing factor to our success. I believe Kent will have a good balance and starting point when we unload next week, and we will work hard to make sure that my PM-18 is there as well.”
In a jam-packed two-day format that will see two test sessions on Thursday, May 27, one practice session will take place on Friday before the Carb Night Classic.
