DeFabis ready and prepared to kick off 2025 season in St. Pete
Earning a race win in the USF2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire in 2024, Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) competitor Tanner DeFabis is levelling up in 2025. Inking a deal to return to the potent JHDD program, DeFabis will contest a partial USF Pro 2000 campaign as he looks to add to his race schedule as the season progresses.
“After a solid partial season and achieving my first win with JHDD in 2024, I am excited to come back for another partial season to continue to climb the ladder into USF Pro 2000,” explained DeFabis. “I will be aiming for solid points finishes, podiums and race wins as well as learn as much as I can and improve as a driver along the way.”
Racing in 10 USF2000 races in 2024, DeFabis got a taste of USF Pro 2000 machinery at the final USF Pro Championships event of the season at the Portland International Raceway. With the goal of advancing in 2025, DeFabis will see his name on the entry list for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in late February, and several other events throughout 2025.
Team Owner Jay Howard added, “Tanner did an amazing job last year, we love having him on the team, and we will be hoping we can repeat the dominant win at Lucas Oil Raceway again where he put on a show for everyone. Tanner has taken to the USF Pro car well, testing has gone very smooth, and we are looking forward to seeing him in the car at St. Pete.”
DeFabis and the rest of the JHDD program will begin their 2025 campaign on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida over the February 28 to March 2 weekend.
