Team will see action in both Pro Mazda and USF2000
CHICAGO, Ill. - After some debut events in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda in 2017, BN Racing is now set for their 2018 campaign. Competing in both the previously mentioned USF2000 program as well as the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, the Chicago, Ill.-based team is ready to tackle the upcoming season with its four-driver lineup. With a focus on winning races and the overall series championship, BN Racing will kick off the season this coming weekend at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
"I am very excited about our 2018 driver lineup," explained Bryn Nuttall. "We have four stout drivers that include race winners and champions from previous seasons and programs with a ton of experience. We have a solid engineering staff and the team is starting to gel, we can't wait to get the season started."
The Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires effort will feature American driver David Malukas along with Kris Wright. Malukas proved to be quick at the Chris Griffis Memorial Test, in the first official outing for the new PM18 Pro Mazda car, in late 2017 and topped that off with being the fastest at the last Mazda Road to Indy official test at Barber Motorsports Park this past weekend. Kris Wright will contend a partial season with BN Racing as he will see competition in six rounds in the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, as he will split his time between Europe and the United States for the 2018 season. After his open-wheel racing debut in the 2017 St. Pete Grand Prix event, Wright looks forward to the start of the season and the opportunity to continue to build his racing resume.
On the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda side of the program, previously announced British F4 champion Jamie Caroline will move his racing program to the United States. Looking to take a shot at the scholarship program offered by the Mazda Road to Indy, Caroline becomes an instant threat for the championship with his natural skills, abilities and experience. American driver Russell McDonough will pilot the other BN Racing prepared USF-17 as he is a graduate of the Lucas Oil Formula 2000 Racing Series Series where he was a podium winner in the end of the year championship.
BN Racing and its full stable of drivers will kick off the 2018 season at the Streets of St. Petersburg, March 9-11 in both Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda and the Pro Mazda Presented by Cooper Tires.
