TJ Speed brings another new driver to USF Pro 2000
PITTSBORO, Ind. – With the 2024 USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire program set to begin the second half of the season this weekend, TJ Speed Motorsports is primed and ready to make a run at the series title. Heading to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for a triple-header weekend, the Indianapolis-based program will tackle the 4.014-mile, 14-turn Road America for rounds 10 through 12 of the series as Liam Sceats is joined by series newcomer Cooper Becklin.
“We have a little bit of a revolving door in our second and third cars at the moment, but we are introducing new drivers to the series and USF Pro Championships program, all while racing for a title with Liam,” explained Team Owner Tim Neff. “This weekend we welcome Cooper Becklin to the program and look forward to seeing what he can do.”
Sceats currently sits fourth in the championship points chase, only 24 markers behind the championship leader. With wins and podiums to his credit already in 2024, Road America is an important weekend in the run toward the championship.
Joining Sceats will be Becklin who comes to the series with experience in both F4 and FR Americas. Becklin finished third in the F4 championship in 2020, and last season earned one win and 15 podium finishes on route to a third-place position in the FR championship standings. Looking to try a new series and possibly align himself with a program looking forward to 2025, Becklin will make his series debut this weekend at Road America.
The USF Pro 2000 field will hit the track on Thursday for a Promoter Test Day. Friday morning is the sole practice session of the weekend, followed by the first qualifying session later in the morning and the second qualifying session on Friday afternoon. Races one and two will occur on Saturday, with the weekend wrapping up Sunday morning with race three.
