Race Two Report: Grand Prix of Mosport
Shelby Blackstock, No. 28 Starstruck
After rolling off the grid for Race Two in P2, Shelby Blackstock clinched his first Pro Mazda Championship win on Sunday at Mosport with over a two second lead. The 23-year-old remains third in the championship points fight heading to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course next week.
"Today was a fantastic day! So happy to get a win for the No. 28 Starstruck Andretti Autosport Pro Mazda! I had a strong car all weekend long, and I cannot begin to thank all the crew for all their hard work! I hope this momentum is brought to Mid-Ohio."
Matthew Brabham, No. 83
Matthew Brabham suffered his first DNF (Did Not Finish) of the season when he was involved in a racing incident on Lap 5 of the 20-lap race on Sunday. The 19-year-old American remains first in the championship points standings.
"I had a fast car today. It was such a shame to end the weekend with a DNF. I felt very strong in the race... I was making a pass for fourth place in the opening laps and I got pushed into the wall. However, I'm so happy for my teammate Shelby (Blackstock) - I was glad to see him get his first race win."
