    After two races in support of the IZOD IndyCar Series last weekend on the streets of Toronto, Ont., Canada, competitors in the 16-round Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires will travel just an hour or so to the east this weekend for another pair of races – in support of the American Le Mans Series’ Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix – at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park situated a few miles north of Bowmanville, Ont.

    The first of back-to-back Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires events in Canada ultimately proved to be a successful affair for JDC MotorSports, as the three-time series champion overcame setbacks to exit Rounds Seven and Eight on the streets of Toronto, Ont. with another podium finish and two racers earning their best results to date.

  • Mazda Philippines Backs Michele Bumgarner on Mazda Road to Indy

    Berjaya Auto Philippines Inc, the distributor of Mazda in the Philippines, and Lee Bumgarner (LBI), Inc, announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Mazda Philippines to support Filipino racing sensation Michele Bumgarner in her quest to reach North America’s INDYCAR race championship.

  • M1 Racing: Bowlin Doubles as Pro Mazda Expert Class Winner

    After forgoing the two oval races on the 2013 schedule for the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires, the Dallas-based team fielded a car for Walt Bowlin of Tarpon Springs, Fla., in the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of Toronto doubleheader last weekend. Bowlin was the only driver entered in the Expert division in the doubleheader so he automatically came away with two victories for that class, which is for drivers over the age of 30. He is the defending champion in that division, and he won the Expert class in both races at Toronto last year as well.
