Monterey, California – Will Owen, driver of the #23 Juncos Racing machine finished his 2015 season of the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires on the podium at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Starting from third on the grid, a collision on the first lap of the race allowed Owen to slip into second position. Championship winner, Santiago Urrutia and Neil Alberico were able to take advantage of the re-start and push Owen back to fourth place. With only two laps to go, Alberico spun, allowing Will to move back up to third and secure his spot on the podium.
Race two of the weekend was not anywhere close to being as thrilling as most of the race ran under caution with several incidents with different drivers going off track. Owen’s teammate, Garett Grist, was able to hold on to first place earning him back-to-back wins for the weekend. This contributed to Juncos Racing’s total of four victories during the season, enabling the Brownsburg, Ind.-based team to secure its second successive Team Championship by a commanding 39-point margin over Team Pelfrey.
Owen will now focus on his studies during the fall semester at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas, continuing to sharpen his piloting skills, as well as training for the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand set to kick off mid January 2016.

“Finished third in race one and fourth in race two, so pretty good weekend overall here at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. There are still a lot of things I would like to improve but it's a great note to end on going into the off-season. This really motivates me to train and work harder for everything next year. I'm happy to be coming back to Pro Mazda next year with Juncos and fighting for the championship.”
