Lexington, Ohio – Will Owen, currently eighth in points in the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires, has landed in Ohio for the second-to-last round of the season. Unlike most arriving to the Cooper Tires Pro Mazda Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio, Owen touched down in Mansfield Wednesday evening in a small plane he was piloting as part of his required practice to secure his pilots license, which he will get in August. The "pilot" of the #23 Juncos Racing machine is looking to secure his first victory of the season this weekend.

The twenty year old may be a rookie this weekend in the Pro Mazda machine, but is no stranger to the twists and turns of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Owen finished third quickest on the time sheets during the test here in June and has already shown he has the pace on the 2.258 mile course running among the leaders during the testing sessions on Thursday. With only two races in Ohio and two left at the final round in September, there's still plenty of points up for grabs in the championship.
