PITTSBORO, Ind. – USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire travels to Canada this weekend for the penultimate event weekend of the season on the Streets of Toronto. After a tough weekend in Ohio, TJ Speed Motorsports is looking for success in Rounds 15 and 16 of the championship, bringing a driver lineup of Liam Sceats and Cooper Becklin.
Last time out at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, rookies Sceats and Becklin had a clean first race but struggled to move forward as the track is known for being difficult to pass on. Becklin finished just outside the top 10 in race two, while Sceats was caught up in a lap-four incident that ended his day early.
“We didn’t get the results we wanted at Mid-Ohio, but it was a good learning experience for Liam and Cooper, and overall, they did show the pace needed to contend,” Team Owner Tim Neff said. “Our full focus is on Toronto now, and I’m confident we can bounce back and fight near the front where we belong this weekend.”
With the season winding down, the TJ Speed team aims to achieve the best results possible in the final few rounds, beginning this weekend in Toronto, and concluding at the Portland Grand Prix in a few weeks.
“We want to end our season on a high note, and that starts with having a good performance in Toronto,” Neff added. “The whole crew has been working hard all season long, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish in these final two weekends as we build toward our 2025 program. Liam and Cooper have also been constantly improving in their time with us, and I’m hoping they can both finish their rookie seasons strong.”
Sceats and Becklin and the rest of the USF Pro 2000 field will first hit the Streets of Toronto on Friday for practice and one qualifying session. The second qualifying session and race one is set to take place on Saturday, and race two is scheduled for Sunday morning.
