Indianapolis, Indiana – It was a difficult day for Timothe Buret at the Cooper Tires Freedom 90 this weekend. The young Frenchman showed strong potential during his first-ever oval race but was then forced to retire due to damage to his Pro Mazda race car. Despite the problematic finish, Buret is still in the fight for the championship and currently sits third with 162 points.

Buret began his young racing career in Europe and came to the USA for the first time this year to compete in the 2015 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires.  This weekend’s event at Lucas Oil Raceway marked his first-ever race around an oval and the 20-year-old driver was able to quickly come to grips with the new style of driving.  After a disappointing qualifying effort of 13th, Buret was a man on the move and began quickly climbing through the field.

As he was attempting a pass on Dalton Kellet, the two drivers made slight contact and Buret damaged his #6 Broadsign racecar.  The Juncos Racing team attempted to repair the damage but eventually decided to retire the car.

Buret will now head to the streets of Toronto where he will look to continue his strong run of road course finishes and will attempt to score his second victory of the season.

“I was overtaking Dalton Kellet and he came down on me and we crashed. It’s disappointing but I had nowhere to go.  But I actually think I did a great race. I was slow in practice but during the race something changed in my head and I was able to have much more confidence and felt very good inside the car. I want to say big thanks to Juncos Racing because they supported me and helped me until the end. I’m very happy and I’m definitely looking forward to Toronto where I know I can be better than here and I can fight for another top result. “
