Lexington, Ohio – Turn 3 Motorsport will return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend for Rounds 11/12 of the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. The Surgere Indy Pro 2000 Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio, which was originally scheduled for the beginning of August, will run alongside the NTT IndyCar Series for a packed weekend of racing at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course. The team’s previous venture to Mid-Ohio resulted in Danial Frost scoring a second-place finish and fastest lap point as well as seeing the driver of the #68 DENJET car challenge for the win in all three races. Teammate Antoine Comeau has also shown competitive pace in his #3 ACR/Eastern car at this course with one of his highest finishes of the season being achieved at Mid-Ohio in July.
“I’m looking forward to being back at Mid-Ohio this weekend,”said Team Owner Peter Dempsey.“With Indy Pro 2000 being a support series to IndyCar, I know the drivers are all excited to be racing alongside the NTT IndyCar Series as well. Danial and Antoine had some strong races here a few weeks back, so hopefully we can return to the course this weekend challenging for wins and podiums.”
Frost goes into this weekend sitting fourth in the championship with Comeau holding onto tenth. Events for Indy Pro 2000 begin on Friday with a morning practice session followed by two qualifying runs in the afternoon. Race 1 will take place on Saturday at 12:15pm EST with Race 2 occurring at 9:00am EST on Sunday.
