LEXINGTON, Ohio - It was another weekend in the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires program as Antonio Serravalle found his way to a pair of top-ten finishes. Taking on the Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires field, the Pserra Racing driver turned his 13th and 12th place qualifying results into seventh and ninth place finishes over the event weekend.
"We were really looking to repeat our performances from Toronto but came up just a little short," explained Antonio. "In the end, to leave Mid-Ohio with two top-ten finishes is great, and we now look forward to our next event which will be Portland. Unfortunately, we will miss St. Louis, but it will allow us to prepare more for our West Coast trip to finish off the season."
With two separate races and a pair of qualifying sessions this past weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Serravalle was unable to find the necessary time to qualify in the top-ten. Following the sessions, it was determined that an alternator issue hindered the performance of the #11 Indy Pro 2000 machine and that Serravalle would be forced to move forward when wheel-to-wheel action commenced. Securing row six and seven place starting spots, the young driver was up for the challenge.
Serravalle continued, "Saturday was a great day once we got into racing. Finishing seventh was a great rebound from our DNF on Sunday in Toronto and the goal for Sunday was to claim another top-ten result, which we did. It is good to achieve our goals this weekend and as we reset for the next event, we will also reset our goals."
Antonio Serravalle and Pserra Racing will skip the Gateway Motorsports Park event weekend over the August 23-24 as they prepare for the next permanent road course at the Portland International Raceway the following weekend. Set to make the West Coast trip, Serravalle will return to Portland before making his first career start at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the middle of September.
Antonio Serravalle and Pserra Racing would like to thank Tycoon Capital Limited, Scuderia Ferrari Club of Toronto, Cos Shore Inc. -Medi- Scan, Ferrari & Associates, and Camptech II Circuits for all of their support in the past, present and future.
