Young Canadian joins top level program and will compete alongside Kyle Kirkwood
In what could be a precursor for the 2020 season, Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires driver Antonio Serravalle and Pserra Racing have joined RP Motorsports for the upcoming Portland Grand Prix. Scoring a career best fourth place result earlier in the year on the Streets of Toronto, the young Canadian has been behind the wheel of several different vehicles as of late, but returns to his Indy Pro 2000 No. 11 entry this weekend.
"I am really excited to join RP Motorsports this coming weekend," explained Serravalle. "From the outside, they look to be a great team and obviously have fast equipment which has been proven by Kyle Kirkwood. We needed a change and with only two events remaining on the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 calendar, it was better to explore our options now, rather than wait until the off season."
Skipping the most recent event this past weekend at World Wide Technologies Raceway at Gateway in St. Louis, Serravalle heads to Portland for his first attempt at the legendary facility.
"I have heard great things about the Portland track and can't wait to get the weekend started," added the Canadian. "Unfortunately, we were not able to compete at this facility in 2018 but with three Promoters Test sessions on Thursday, I will look to get up to speed quickly before the official weekend begins."
Despite missing St. Louis and having some bad luck in some previous events, Serravalle sits 12th in the Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires point standings.
