Brownsburg, IN – American driver, Spencer Pigot, will make his appearance with Juncos Racing in the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires next week at Barber Motorsports Park’s official series test.

Spencer Pigot, 20, was the 2012 USF2000 WinterFest Champion and back-to-back Vice Champion of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship in 2011 and 2012.  Pigot finished the 2013 Pro Mazda season 4th in the driver standings with five podium finishes, including one win at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

“I'm really looking forward to testing with Juncos Racing next week,” said Pigot.  “I drove for Juncos in go-karts a long time ago so it will be great to work with them again. I haven't been in a car since the last race in Houston so I'm excited to be driving again. It will be important to get up to speed quickly and begin to develop the car as Pro Mazda goes to Barber in the WinterFest and the main Championship. It looks like an awesome track and I can't wait to get in the car.”

Juncos Racing Team Owner, Ricardo Juncos, is thrilled to have Pigot piloting the Pro Mazda car for the test and hopes to bring him on board full time with Juncos Racing in the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship.

“It's great to have Spencer back with us after so many years,” said Juncos.  “We know each other very well and he definitely is one of the best drivers out there with a lot of potential to compete for the title in the 2014 Pro Mazda season.  I'm looking forward for the open test at Barber and to work with Spencer through the two-day test.  We won the race when we were together last time (2012) and now we are going with the Cooper Tires for the first time.  This is a great opportunity for both the team and Spencer to learn and find the right setups."

The Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires will test December 9 and 10, 2013 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama and open the official season on March 29, 2014 at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.  For more information visit juncosracing.com and promazdachampionship.com.
