The Final race, on the last day, championship Sunday, 23 year-old rookie Aaron Telitz captured the 2016 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and the Mazda Scholarship by winning the final race of the year.

This weekend saw the last event in the 2016 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. Nico, in his rookie season, finished a respectable third in the championship with two wins, five podium finishes, one pole position and two fastest laps.

Aaron Telitz, from Birchwood, Wis., won the 16th and final round for Team Pelfrey to secure the title and a Mazda scholarship prize to graduate into Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, the top tier of the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires, in 2017
