NICO JAMIN QUOTE: “On reflection, the weekend didn't go as expected. Before the race we had a very successful private test day at Gresham track in Georgia, where we learned a lot about the car and some of the characteristics needed for driving ovals. The test put us in a very good position for the official track test on Thursday at the Lucas Oil Raceway and we ended the official practice with the fastest lap of the day. With all of the testing and preparation work we had a great shot at the pole on Friday.
“When qualifying arrived we put a new set of tires on and for some reason the car just got very difficult to drive, the handling changed drastically and all of our pace just disappeared. It was incredibly frustrating but there is that one small element that can have a massive effect and this weekend that small element hit us hard. We ended qualifying in seventh position and unfortunately couldn't do any better in the race. We are not quite sure what happened, but the team will be working hard to understand and we will be back stronger at the next race at Road America.”
The next race for Jamin is the Grand Prix of Road America, Wisconsin on June 25th and 26th.
