Indianapolis, Ind. – Juncos Racing eSports team is set to compete in the first round of the Ricmotech Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires iRacing eSeries at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend. Current Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires drivers R. Nate Aranda and Artem Petrov will join Juncos Racing Team Owner Ricardo Juncos for a three-car line-up representing Juncos Racing eSport.
Drivers from all three levels of the Road To Indy ladder, including some team owners will compete against each other throughout the five-race schedule beginning Saturday March 28th. The Ricmotech Road to Indy events will take place each Saturday until May 2nd. Each race is set for 45-minutes at 1:04PM EST and is a precursor to the INDYCAR iRacing Challenge scheduled at 4:00PM each Saturday.
Juncos Racing Team Owner Ricardo Juncos will represent Juncos Racing eSports in the No. 11s entry, while Aranda will pilot the No. 69 and Petrov in the No. 42 Juncos Racing cars.
“I am really looking forward to seeing our Juncos Racing eSports teams get on track for the first time this weekend in both the INDYCar iRacing Challenge and the Ricmotech Road to Indy Pro Mazda race,” said Juncos. “As we are all going through this very tough and uncertain time around the world, it’s nice to give the people something to look forward to and cheer on their favorite teams and drivers. We are excited to have the chance to race many different drivers across various events, bringing together many people.”
Aranda, who was recently announced to Juncos Racing’s Indy Pro 2000 drive line-up, is ready to make his first race virtual racing appearance with Juncos Racing eSports.
“I am excited to join my fellow teammates and Ricardo (Juncos) for the Road to Indy iRacing eSeries,” said Arnada. “I LOVE the way the Road to Indy Race series is transitioning to keep moving forward and utilizing technology to keep us all relevant in this uncertain time that has all professional sports closed to in-person events. See you in the virtual world!”
Petrov will make his first start with Juncos Racing eSports in the Ricmotech Road to Indy eSeries after the event at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend.
“Although I will not be able to participate in the first event this weekend, I am really looking forward to racing with the Juncos Racing eSports team throughout the remaining races,” said Petrov. “Being able to compete against drivers from all of the Road to Indy series in one race will be a unique experience, especially having Ricardo (Juncos) as one of my teammates. The world is going through a tough time, so to be able to put on a show and give our fans, friends, and families something to enjoy feels great. I am ready to get behind the wheel and have a great time with everyone.”
All registration fees accumulated by the events will be donated into a fund to support the COVID-10 relief efforts.
