Homestead, Fla. – Juncos Racing set the fastest time overall with Sting Ray Robb in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires during the two-day Road To Indy Spring Training test, while teammate Rasmus Lindh recorded the fourth quickest time overall.
A total of 13 cars made their first official start in the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires this past weekend around the 2.21 mile, 14-turn road course located at Miami-Homestead Speedway. Two days of testing consisted of five total sessions for the Indy Pro 2000 field.
Sting Ray Robb (Payette, Idaho) recorded a total of 109 laps and set the fastest time overall during the final session with a time of 1:19.7509.
Robb said, “It’s been a very long off-season. Juncos’ crew had the car dialed in. In the last couple of laps the beacon wasn’t working so I couldn’t tell how fast I was going. I was instructed to just drive as fast as I could, so I did. Juncos has worked incredibly hard and we have great expectations for the season! It is a pleasure to work with my teammate Rasmus Lindh and we will continue to push each other to the limit throughout the season. I’m ready to race through the streets of St. Pete this weekend! GodSpeed!”
Rookie Rasmus Lindh (Gothenburg, Sweden) set the third fastest time in the final session and recorded the fourth fastest time overall with a time of 1:20.0290.
Rasmus said, “I am happy with the speed we had during the two-day test. I learned a lot throughout this weekend and I like how we work as a team. The Juncos crew does an amazing job prepping the car. I feel ready for our first race weekend of the year this weekend in St. Pete. I am confident we will find success, so I can’t wait to get back in the car and work with the team again!”
Team Owner Ricardo Juncos said, “I am very pleased with our team results at Homestead. The drivers and crew worked very well together and have already created a strong chemistry going into the race season. We will continue to work hard and prepare to get back on track here in just a few days.”
