Brownsburg, Ind. -- Ready to close out her first season in the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, Julia Ballario is prepared to finish strong at Sonoma Raceway this weekend. Rounds 13 and 14 will be on a 2.385 mile 12-turn road course located in the hills of Sonoma, California. Ballario’s team Juncos Racing currently leads the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship going into the season finale.
Argentinean rookie Julia Ballario, 22, driving the #6 Pistas Argentinas/Argentina Art/Juncos Racing car has improved at each race this season through her dedication and desire to learn more in her first season in the Pro Mazda Series. Ballario has recorded one Top-5 and multiple Top-10’s this season. Ending the season finishing inside the Top-10 in the championship is Ballario’s goal for the finale at Sonoma Raceway.
“I am ready for the last two races of the season this weekend at Sonoma,” said Ballario. “I have been preparing a lot watching onboard cameras to learn as much as I can about the track. My goal is to finish with great results this weekend so I can finish inside the Top-10 in the championship. I hope for no mistakes and to be fast in the first practice session to set myself up for good final results. I also hope that my team Juncos Racing can win the championship in both the drivers and team championship. Everyone has worked very hard and well together throughout the year and deserves to win for all of the team members.”
About Julia Ballario: Becoming Argentina’s first female driver to compete in the United States, Julia Ballario pilots the #6 Pistas Argentinas and Argentina Art car with Pro Mazda Championship winning team Juncos Racing.
