Madison, Ill. – Abel Motorsports rolls into the final oval race of the 2021 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires after a month-long break for the team.
20-year-old Jacob Abel found some confidence at the Lucas Oil Raceway oval back in May, coming on strong at the end of the race, and is hoping to get up to speed more quickly with his newfound comfort on oval tracks. In addition to the strong showing at Lucas Oil Raceway, the No. 51 Crosley Brands (crosleyradio.com) team was able to test at World Wide Technology Raceway earlier in the month to get a head start on a strong setup.
“I definitely gained confidence and knowledge after our last oval race at LOR. Oval racing is a completely different animal compared to road course racing and I feel like I have learned a ton. We need to get up to speed quickly on the weekend with setups and race craft in order to set ourselves up for a strong run. I can’t thank Crosley Brands and all of our partners enough for making this possible, and I hope we go out there and make everyone proud,” said Abel.
Jacob Abel goes into round 13 at World Wide Technology Raceway 7th in the point standings with two podium finishes so far in the season.
