Elkhart Lake, Wisc. – Kory Enders finished in 9th place in both rounds six and seven of the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper tires with DEForce Racing over the weekend for the Cooper Tires Grand Prix of Road America Powered by Elite Engines.
Enders and DEForce Racing experienced a steep learning curve racing at Road America for the first time. With only one practice session before both qualifying sessions, the team made their best effort to get Enders and his teammates up to speed. The twenty-one-year-old ended up qualifying 11th for Race 1 and 9th for Race 2.
Valuable experience was gained in Race 1 for Enders and DEForce Racing. Enders was able to make his way up to 9th place after two full-course cautions and struggling for straight-line speed. The crew of DEForce racing stayed up until 3:00 a.m. working on the No. 7 Tatuus PM-18 with the information they learned in hopes of giving Enders a quicker car for Race 2 on Sunday.
Starting from 9th, Enders was able to make his way up to 6th in Race 2 before his car ran out of battery on the last of the 15-lap race and was forced to make his way to the pits and to settle for 9th place. Several significant changes were made by DEForce Racing, which gives them a wave of confidence looking ahead to rounds eight and nine of the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires in Toronto, Canada July 12-14th.

“This weekend was not our best. We missed the setup in qualifying and during the race discovered our engine was very weak. For Race 2 we changed the engine, which helped as I was running 6th, but because of a bad alternator belt in the new engine I lost my ability to downshift with one lap to go and had to pit.”
