Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver's Scott Hargrove continues to impress with double podiums in the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires at the Honda Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park, driving the #3 entry for Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing.
Hargrove came into the weekend sitting fourth in series points after the season-opening double-header at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg a month ago. As the weekend began, Scott proved to be one of the quickest drivers, topping the time sheets in almost every session. In qualifying, his quick laps guaranteed him front row starts in both races, starting P2 on Saturday on P1 on Sunday. Scott fought wheel to wheel for the win in both races, coming home a very close second each day, moving him to a tie for second place in series points.
In the post-race interviews, Hargrove said "The race for the lead was so tight that there was less than half an inch between the two cars. You couldn't have raced any closer without contact."
The next event is the Grand Prix of Indianapolis May 9-10. Series information and the full schedule can be found here: www.promazdachampionship.com.
