Shelby Blackstock, No. 28 Starstruck

  • Went from seventh to third on the final restart to capture his fifth podium of the season
  • Today's 90-lap race marked the 24-year-old's 12th podium in Pro Mazda

"I'm extremely happy - I'm not confident on ovals and I'm still really learning the oval racing. In the end I basically had a good run and learned a lot today; that was what I was most happy about. I knew wherever I finished, I was going to take out of it that I learned a ton. I was happy to finish, and luckily I was in the right place at the right time to get some good opportunities and get on the podium. I'm very, very happy for the No. 28 Starstruck car and so happy for the team for getting a good result after our bad weekend at Mid-Ohio. Just looking forward to Sonoma... we need to get on the top step of the podium to cap off the season in a good way."

Garett Grist, No. 27 Lander Property Management/DaVinci Foods

  • Rookie was making moves to make his way into the top five when he got into the marbles and made contact with the wall
  • Canadian was shown as placing 12th after retiring on Lap 79 of 90

"We were making our way up, but I'm kind of surprised we made it to Lap 79... I felt as if our car was all over the place. We picked off a few guys to make our way back up to sixth, but then I just got into the marbles, had nowhere to go and hit the wall. It's unfortunate - we could have gotten some good points at least to head to Sonoma. I'm hoping we can bounce back a bit in Sonoma and have a great end to our season."
